"The Backbone of Yooyili."

YOOYILI Pag-Dede, founded by Hajia Fatahiya Abdul Aziz, known as “Lady Fatahiya,” signifies strength and purpose through its name, “The Backbone of Yooyili.” This community-driven foundation aims for inclusive empowerment in Yooyili and nearby areas within the Savelugu Constituency, Northern Region of Ghana.

Lady Fatahiya founded this initiative to acknowledge and strengthen the vital role women serve as the “backbone” of their families and communities while addressing challenges encountered by children and individuals with disabilities. The focus will be on projects aimed at achieving economic empowerment.

Mission

To empower women, children, and persons with disabilities in Yooyili and surrounding communities through education, economic initiatives in agriculture, fashion, health programs, and advocacy, promoting equality and dignity for everyone.

Vision:

To promote a vibrant and inclusive community where every individual, especially the women who are the heart of Yooyili, is empowered to achieve their full potential.

"She Grows": Women in Agriculture Project

Our “She Grows” project equips women farmers with the tools and knowledge to thrive. We provide training in modern farming, access to resources, market connections, and support for value-added processing. We also offer ploughing support, modernization assistance, and ensure water security. Ultimately, we empower women to increase their income, improve their livelihoods, and build a sustainable future for their families and communities. We prioritize widows and women with disabilities.

"Style of the Dagbon": Women's Fashion House Project

We are excited to launch “Style of Dagbon,” a project designed to create a vibrant hub for creativity and entrepreneurship focused on empowering women in the fashion industry. Our goal is to help women showcase their unique styles while building sustainable livelihoods.

This project will provide comprehensive training in fashion design, tailoring, and business management, ensuring that participants gain essential skills to excel in the fashion world.

"Story Weavers of Yooyili": A Project for Children

Story Weavers of Yooyili is an exciting project we aim to implement, focused on empowering children aged 6-15 in Yooyili to embrace their roles as storytellers, artists, and cultural ambassadors. By merging traditional storytelling with modern creative tools, we hope to instill a deep appreciation for heritage while equipping our young participants with essential skills for their futures.

"Dagbon Karinzung": A Preschool project

“Dagbon Karinzung” is our novel initiative to transform preschool education in Dagbon. We’re building vibrant new preschools and refurbishing existing ones to create spaces where learning and culture come alive, giving every child a strong start and ensuring a bright future for our communities..

The Clean Water Project

We believe access to clean water is a fundamental human right, and we’re working to make that a reality in Savelugu. Access to clean water means healthier children, empowered women, and thriving communities. But we can’t do it alone. Partner with us today to bring this life-changing resource to the families of Yooyili and build a brighter future for all.
