From Wednesday, 25 June to Friday, 27 June 2025, I had the honour of travelling to Abidjan with parliamentary colleagues to attend the official launch of Côte d’Ivoire’s Standalone Parliamentary Action Plan 2025 at the National Assembly Palace. The ceremony, led by the president of the National Assembly of Cote D’Ivoire, His Excellency Adama Bictogo, and civil society partners, showcased bold reforms promoting transparency, accountability, and citizen participation. From open committee hearings and real-time legislative tracking to gender-responsive policymaking, Côte d’Ivoire’s commitment to open governance sets a powerful example for West Africa. A proud and inspiring moment for participatory democracy.
